How choosing the correct

wedge can help improve your chipping

The bounce of the wedge is the most important part of a wedge. When I chip the club I chose to chip with is decided more on the bounce of the club than the loft. In the video below I discuss what exactly the bounce is.

At Kiama we are very fortunate that there is plenty of grass under the ball around the greens to assist us in gaining solid contact on a consistent basis. In my opinion, Kikuyu grass is the easiest surface to chip from. At some other courses where the surrounds of the green are very bare and tight this is when it becomes more difficult to obtain solid contact.

A strict rule of thumb when choosing which club to chip with:

Tight Lies - Low bounce

Fluffy Lies - Higher bounce.

Have you had the opportunity to hit one on the course or just hit one into a net and told to trust the numbers that pop up? In my experience feel is a very important factor when choosing a driver or any club for that matter. If you have any questions as to which driver may or may not suit you please book in so I can help guide you in the right direction. It doesn't need to be rushed.
